Pokémon Leaf Green

Picture

Bugs

Picture
Loading and Saving both have issues which while does not directly effect your ability to play, save and load your data it does however create some odd things to the game

Loading save data from the main menu always shows this prompt as if the save was corrupted and it is loading the backup save no matter what every time.

During saving your game the game will freeze for a moment before confirming that it has saved your data, However the audio becomes glitched and some of the sounds and midi instruments become distorted or inaudible, Attempting to save again does not farther glitch the audio changing maps or soft resetting does not fix the glitch which requires a hard reset to clear.

Another notable issue with the loading and saving is that the "Hall of Fame" data is always corrupted even if you Reset the save data it will never save correctly for that part of the game displaying the message "The HALL OF FAME data is corrupted."

From what I can tell the ROM has been Patched to save to the Samsung CMOS Memory rather than how it normally should which could be the reason for the glitches. It is at this time undetermined if the game is link cable capable to other Pokemon titles legitimate or otherwise in the Gameboy advance line.

The game is also NOT connectable to the DS Pokemon games "Heart Gold" or "Soul Silver" which will simply not see that the game is there meaning any Pokemon caught in Leaf Green cannot be directly imported.

Cartridge hardware

Picture
The Cartridge itself features a Samsung K6T1008U2E-YF10
for Data saving (128k X 8 Bit Low Power and Voltage CMOS Static Ram Functional 1 Mb) and a FUJITSU MSP55LV128 EEPROM for holding the rom itself.

The Cartridge also has a Fake Nintendo logo and Identification mark "AGB-E01-41" is a very typical ID for bootleg Pokemon GBA Cartridges that appear on ebay a legitimate copy would have "AGB-E05-01"
