Going Postal...

So I thought I'd share my story of woe and rage against Posten in Norway, It all started a few weeks ago where my good friend in Portugal offered me a free Netbook (Magalhaes MG2) to which I was like "Fuck yea!" after some talks we worked out the what we thought most efficient and cheapest way to get the Netbook from him to me. How wrong we were...

So 2 weeks ago my friend sent off the MG2 in a box with a tracking number, given his family's political position it was sent with a "free pass" through the R.D.C. Embassy to speed things up, and it was sent off without a hitch, great we thought but that was where things went into a downward spiral.

A few days later my friend’s uncle who is an ambassador gets a phone call from
Norway Customs verifying that the Embassy sent the box to which he confirmed this then another 3 days past and he gets another call saying the package was "delivered".

It's important to note that when a Norwegian says something that we would consider "Passed on", "Handed in" or similar they only have one word for it and so when they mentally translate to English it always comes out as "Delivered" even when they meant it was handed over. So with that we both knew it made it through customs and would be on its way to me.... or so we thought this is where shit hit the fan.

When my friend sent it, it had a tracking number nothing special your standard Postal tracking one but it was not found in Posten.no's system but I didn't worry at that point hiccups have been known to happen with Posten tracking.

Days and days go by so I decide to contact Posten to which I was asked do I have a tracking number, I Gave them all the details the would need even telling them what there looking out for, they come back to me and say "We cant find it in our system so there is nothing we can do" as you all could imagine that pissed me off so I contacted them again asking for them to look for it, after all when you think about it... This is an Embassy Package that has been sent traceable that Posten has failed to register into there system and then lost (Or as I suspect someone stole) to which they repeated there is nothing they can do and we should talk to the post service in Portugal when we know 100% it is in Norway. At this point I am seeing red and have now demanded they have a manager call me as at this point Posten owe me a Netbook from there pure stupidity.

This is not even the first time they have lost or severely delayed my items in the mail. Just before Christmas I bought a Dimm of Laptop DDR2 2GB memory which never arrived and I had to get the seller to send out another, and even now more things I am waiting for are taking much longer than normal. I'm awaiting a Poster from the USA which is now almost 2 weeks past. This isn’t even the half of the things that have gone A.W.O.L. or so delayed I thought it may never show up. So my battle with Posten to get them to accept responsibility for there blunder and pay for there fuck up continues, but I've learned one or two things from this.

Don't Trust the Posten in Norway with ANYTHING of Value

Posten this is for you... Time to pour on the heat with Newspapers, Legal proceedings, Ambassadors and what ever else I can throw at you. You had your chance to work it out with me. Now you guys can kiss my fucking ass!
