How to Dig for Ɖogecoin

Picture
What is Ɖogecoin?
Dogecoin (code: DOGE, symbol: Ɖ and D), is a Litecoin-derived cryptocurrency that uses the Shiba Inu dog character from the 'Doge' Internet meme as its mascot.

Uses and Exchanges
There are several online exchanges that handle DOGE/BTC and DOGE/LTC trading. The price is highly volatile due to the relatively short existence of the currency. As of Dec 19th 2013, the price for one DOGE was $0.00095, although this hasn't been a deterrent for exchange since people are trading real-world items in exchange for DOGE on major online communities such as Reddit.

How to  mine or "Dig" for coins (CPU Method / Windows):

  • Head over to dogecoin.com and download the software.
  • Unpack / Extract the software to a folder where you can easily find it and open it.
  • Click on "Much Receive" and you should see an address has been already created for you.
  • Right Click your Address and click "Edit" and type in a Label, I Would Recommend "Mining" and Press OK
  • Right Click your Address and click "Copy Address"
  • Now head over to Fast-Pool.com, Register and login to your account you may be asked for the Address we copied earlier.
  • Click "My Workers" on the left side and Type a Worker Name & Password and click "Add New Worker".
  • Now Download the "CPU Miner" software 32Bit Here or 64Bit Here.
  • Unpack the software to another folder on your hard drive where you can easily find it.
  • Download this Batch file below and save it in the same folder as your CPU Miner Program (MinerD)

miner.bat
File Size: 0 kb
File Type: bat
Download File

  • Right click the Batch file and select "Edit".
  • Replace "USERNAME.WORKERNAME" with first before the . your Fast-Pool User Name and the Worker name you set after the . (Case Sensative)
  • After the "-P" put your Worker's password (NOT your Fast-Pool Password)
  • (Optional) If you wish to limit the amount of Cores used to mine add " -t " at the end followed by the number of Cores you wish to use
  • Save and close the batch file and run it. You should now see it saying something like "Stratum Detected a new block" followed by threads with a number  of hashes and a speed in "khash/s"

Congratulations you are now digging for Ɖogecoins!

Note: If you was not asked for your Dogecoin Wallet Address now is a good time to return to fast-pool and edit it into your account with "Edit Account" this is also where you can "Withdraw" your coins to your wallet.

Recommended: Enable "Anonymous Account" for added privacy and protection in your account settings, also please check from time to time on the fast pool website sometimes the Stratum URL may change as well as the Dogecoin website for the latest version of the application!

If this guide was helpful and you feel like tipping you can find my Wallet Address on the Homepage! Many Thanks!
